Welcome from our Superintendent

On behalf of the School Board and staff, I welcome you to the Glendale-River Hills School District!

A woman with shoulder-length brown hair smiles at the camera.

I am truly honored to serve as Superintendent and to lead our district in fulfilling our vision of being a community that pursues equity where every person belongs, is valued, and can thrive.

In partnership with our talented team, I am guiding our efforts to carry forward our strategic plan, including the development of key performance indicators aligned to each of our strategic pillars: Whole Child Growth and Success, Exceptional Staff and Leadership, Empowered Community, and Equitable Stewardship. This focused, intentional work builds on the strong legacy of our district and moves us confidently toward the excellence our community deserves.

My professional journey includes a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Cardinal Stritch University, and completion of the Superintendent Licensure Program at Marquette University. Over the past 25+ years, I have proudly served public education as a teacher, university adjunct professor, reading specialist, associate principal, and principal. My career has taken me through Milwaukee Public Schools, the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, the Mequon-Thiensville School District, the St. Francis School District, and now the Glendale-River Hills School District. These diverse experiences have shaped my belief in continuous improvement and inspire the direction of our district’s collective work.

Our district operates as a professional learning community committed to academic rigor, positive social development, and student-centered decision making. We know that our success is strengthened by the meaningful partnership of families and our broader community, and we are truly grateful for your continued support and collaboration.

I look forward with optimism and excitement to championing a culture of growth, connection, and success for every member of the Glendale-River Hills learning community. Together, we will ensure that all students, and all who serve them, belong and thrive.

Anna Young

Superintendent
